The price of chicken rose ~ 236,000% to 15 million Zimbabwe dollars ($2.15/kg) between 2007-2008!

Facing acute shortages of food, gasoline & basic goods, Zimbabwe's economic meltdown is
blamed on violent seizures of white-owned commercial farms (beginning in 2000).

Economic hardship is a key issue in the March/April Zimbabwe national elections in which
84-year old President Robert Mugabe is facing the biggest challenge to his hold on power
since he created his Dictatorship in 1980.
